Recently we published a post about the song Almost home, included in the movie OZ. It is for that reason that we came to publish a post about the importance of movie's soundtracks and some of the most popular instrumental songs. We looked up on the Internet, we found a definition about the OST quite clear and easy to understand, with which we fully agree: The OST performs the function to make more powerful the emotions that pictures alone are not able to express.
Since the origin of sound in cinema, music has been an important element when it comes to expressing emotions we could not understand without. Formerly, when the silent film projections began, these were accompanied by a live orchestra to give more meaning to the images and giving to the film a greater reality. If we were watching an action scene, musicians multiplied the speed and force with which they played. When the scene was romantic, stringed instruments used to predominate, with a sweet melody and quiet tone. All logical and well known by all music lovers. Over the years the way to introduce music on films was changing. The music was always recorded at the same time as the action, in live (musicians who appeared on the scene) or from various media such as radios. Finally in the last decades, film has evolved so that the high quality of the image and the magnificent special effects, makes you pay less attention to the music. However, the publication of the OST`s allows million CDs sold, becoming known worldwide through advertising and the media that allow us to access them. At last, we want to thank all the great or small, famous or unknown composers who are dedicated to creating music for movies, a great complement to the image which make us keep dreaming.

Recientemente publicamos un post sobre la canción Almost home, incluida en la película OZ. Al escribirlo se nos ocurrió escribir hoy un post sobre la importancia de la BSO de las películas y algunas de las canciones instrumentales más conocidas. Indagando, hemos encontrado una definición sobre la BSO bastante clara y sencilla de comprender, con la que estamos totalmente de acuerdo: La BSO cumple con la función de potenciar aquellas emociones que las imágenes por sí solas no son capaces de expresar.
Desde el origen de el sonido en el cine, la música ha sido un importante elemento a la hora de expresar emociones que no podríamos comprender sin ella. Antiguamente, cuando las técnicas cinematográficas no eran tan avanzadas a la hora de proyectar una película muda en el cine, esta era acompañada de una orquesta en directo para poder darle más sentido a lo que veíamos y dotando al film de una mayor realidad. Si visualizábamos una escena de acción, los músicos multiplicaban la velocidad y fuerza con la que tocaban. Cuando la escena era romántica, solían predominar instrumentos de cuerda, mas suaves y con un tono mas tranquilo. Todo lógico y de sobra conocido por todos los amantes de la música. Con el paso de los años la forma de introducir la música en el cine fué cambiando. Siempre música grabada al mismo tiempo que la imagen, en directo (músicos que aparecían en escena) o proveniente de diversos medios como radios u orquestas. Finalmente en las últimas décadas, el cine a evolucionado de tal manera que la gran calidad de la imágen y los magníficos efectos especiales, hace que se preste menos atención a la música. No obstante, la publicación de las BSO permite que se vendan millones de CD, dándose a conocer por todo el mundo gracias a la publicidad y los medios que nos permiten acceder a ellas. En definitiva queremos agradecer a todos los grandes o pequeños, famosos o desconocidos compositores/as que se dedican a crear para las películas, la música, un gran complemento a la imagen para hacernos seguir soñando.
